North Shore Cricket Club, founded in 1864, is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious cricket clubs. The Club is seeking an experienced, motivated and strategic cricket coach to lead our Men’s Premier Team and play a vital role in shaping the future of cricket on the Shore.

This is a high-impact leadership position, ideal for someone ready to build on a strong legacy and drive excellence across both senior and junior levels of the club. The Premier Coach will be a leader who is committed to driving performance and with a proven ability to attract and recruit talent. The role involves being a key link between the junior and senior clubs, helping to develop a clear pathway for aspiring players. Like all Premier Club coaching roles it is a part-time opportunity requiring commitment over the cricket season.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing pre-season planning, player recruitment & training for Premier and Premier Reserve teams.
• Leading team selection in liaison with captains and selectors.
• Planning and implementing a structured coaching framework for the Premier squad.
• Managing Tuesday and Thursday training sessions and match day preparations.
• Delivering one-on-one player mentoring and development.
• Preparing performance reports for the Club and ACA.
• Promoting the Club to known players and supporting strategic projects.
• Acting as a vital connection between the junior and senior arms of the Club.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds at least a Level 2 New Zealand Cricket Coaching certification (or equivalent).
• Has senior-level cricket coaching experience and a strong understanding of player development and recruitment.
• Is driven to win.
• Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with players and club leadership.
• Is passionate about building a strong, unified club culture across all age groups.
