SQUAD NEWS: ACES Look to Finish Strong in Final Plunket Shield Clash
The ACES have named their squad for the final Plunket Shield match of the season against the Central Stags at Fitzherbert Park, Palmerston North, from Saturday, 29 March to Tuesday, 1 April.
It has been a season of grit and resilience for the ACES, who have suffered just one loss – a record only bettered by competition leaders Northern Districts. While wins have been hard to come by, the team has shown fight in every match and will be determined to finish on a high.
Skipper Cam Fletcher has led from the front in recent rounds, guiding the ACES to hard-fought draws under pressure. Unfortunately, the team will be without Jock McKenzie due to injury, but Michael Sclanders returns to the squad fresh off a commanding 120 for the Auckland A team against Northern Districts A. A win in Palmerston North could help lift the ACES from the foot of the table and end the season on a positive note.
