The boys bring it home - Our U19 Men are national champions!

Auckland U19 Men took out the final of the Gillette U19 National Tournament on Saturday with a dominant win against Wellington, on the back of yet another James Nelson century, his 4th of the tournament (ending as the top runscorer) and a six wicket bag (6/52) for Harry Cullen-Hieatt.

Superb team performances led Auckland to 5 wins out of 6, with a strong foundation applied at the top of the innings by Nelson and Luke Watson before middle order aggression led the boys to several large totals in excess of 300.

Cullen-Hieatt and Rahman Helmat led the bowlers with 18 and 15 wickets apiece, ending the tournament at the top two ranked bowlers.

The U19 National Tournament is a gateway to selection for the New Zealand U19 team, who will compete in the ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa next month.

With such strong performances from our boys, we expect to see some familiar faces in that New Zealand U19 squad!
