Middle order batter Maddy Green will return to the HEARTS after representing the Wellington Blaze for the last four seasons, securing a central contract in the process.
“I’m a proud Aucklander, so I’m really excited to be back playing for the HEARTS this season.
“It’s a really exciting and talented group and hopefully I can have a positive impact both on and off the field for the team,” says Green.
Batting allrounder Brooke Halliday, who has played for the Northern Brave for the last ten years, will also join the HEARTS this season.
Halliday, one of the few left-handed batters in the women’s game, is excited for a new chapter in her life.
“I’ve known a lot of the Auckland girls for a wee while now so it will be good to get amongst the group and hopefully offer something to the team both on and off the field.
“I’m also looking forward to working with Rob (Nicol) and the coaching crew at Auckland Cricket,” says Halliday.
Izzy Gaze, Fran Jonas and Molly Penfold are the three other Auckland players have been awarded central contracts for 2023/24.
All three were added to the contract list for the first time last season.
The five centrally contracted Auckland HEARTS players will travel today for the WHITEFERNS tour of Sri Lanka.
Auckland HEARTS batter Lauren Down, who was on the contract list last season, opted not to take up an agreement this season due to family reasons.
