Hearts continue winning ways

The Auckland Hearts have wrapped up their weekend with a comprehensive victory over the Central Hinds.

Maddy Green continued her trend of winning the toss, electing to bowl first.

Arlene Kelly (2-30) got the Hearts off to the perfect start picking up an early wicket.

The Hinds managed to rebuild getting themselves to 123/3 after 30 overs to leave the game evenly poised.

Bella Armstrong (3-15) came into the attack and bowled a fantastic spell restricting the runs for the Hinds to give the Hearts the upper hand.

The Hearts upped the ante and the pressure showed, the Hinds losing their last seven wickets for just 34 runs to set the Hearts 158 for victory.

Lauren Down (66*) looked comfortable from ball one rotating the strike with ease to keep the Hearts ahead of the game.

Despite losing a couple of wickets, the Hearts were never troubled in their chase.

Maddy Green (35) playing an excellent supporting role to Down, the pair putting on 93 for the second wicket to bring the Hearts within touching distance of the win.

The Hinds simply had no answers with the Hearts knocking off the target in the 31st over to secure a dominant victory.
