Lockie Ferguson will make his return when the Auckland ACES travel south to Dunedin to take on the Otago Volts on Sunday.
Entering the final round of the Ford Trophy, the ACES have already locked in a home final on Sunday 16 February at Eden Park’s Outer Oval.
The Volts still have plenty to play for with four teams playing for the remaining two playoff spots.
Ferguson is excited to be back in the fold after turning out for club side Parnell over the last fortnight.
“It is always nice to slot back into a team that is having a lot of success.
“Our place in the final is a testament to our team culture and the work that goes on behind the scenes.”
The BLACKCAPS speedster, who took 5-38 against the Central Stags earlier in the Ford Trophy campaign, will join a confident ACES bowling attack.
Ben Lister has led the way, sitting atop the Ford Trophy wicket-takers list with 21 scalps to his name, including 6-51 in the ACES latest outing against Northern Districts.
Skipper Craig Cachopa was pleased the ACES have booked the home final but knows there is still work to do.
“The boys are playing well and we’re excited to host the final next Sunday.
“Our focus now is to keep playing good cricket and maintain the momentum we have as a group.”
