Adams lands Takapuna Premier coaching gig

Former BLACKCAPS and Auckland Aces all-rounder Andre Adams had been appointed as the senior men’s coach at Takapuna District Cricket Club (TDCC) for the next two seasons.

The decision was announced at the clubs Annual General Meeting last night with TDCC president Carl Howey extremely pleased with the appointment.

“Andre’s credentials as a former BLACKCAP and Auckland Aces player along with his Level 2 coaching accreditation combined with his playing and coaching experience both in New Zealand and overseas are a major coup for Takapuna District Cricket Club and an opportunity to welcome back one of our own, eager to ‘give back’ to his grassroots beginnings,” says Howey.

Mr Howey also made note of outgoing coach Shoruban Pasupati’s involvement with the club.

“Sadly we have to bid goodbye to Shoruban Pasupati as men’s premier coach as we embark on a new direction and wish Shoruban well in his future endeavours.”

Last year’s Merv Wallace Bat recipient for club coach of the year, Chris Reid, will continue as the senior women’s coach and was thanked at the AGM for all his passion and valuable contribution to TDCC women’s cricket.
