Laxon named Auckland Cricket CEO
A familiar face has taken the helm at Auckland Cricket Association with the appointment of Iain Laxon as the new CEO, replacing Mark Cameron.
Laxon will be known to many in cricket circles having served in a variety of roles at Auckland Cricket during his 13 years with the organisation, and will relinquish his current position as Community Cricket Manager to take over as CEO.
“I am delighted to head an organisation that I am very passionate about and feel my experience within the various roles I have held will put me in a great position to continue the superb job Mark Cameron did,” Laxon says.
Having already been the acting CEO for the last two months, Laxon feels he is ready to hit the ground running and is excited about where both the professional and community game is heading.
Auckland Cricket Board Chairman Rex Smith is pleased to have Laxon confirmed as CEO.
“Iain knows this organisation inside out and the Board feel he has the vision and direction to continue to take us forward,” Smith says.
