Munro takes out supreme award

Vanilla BriefUncategorized

Colin Munro was rewarded for a sensational season with the bat by being named Auckland Cricketer of the Year last night.

Munro was in explosive form throughout the season as he brought his boundary hitting style to every form of the game.

The highlight was undoubtedly the 269 he hit against Wellington in the Plunket Shield where he shared in a 377 run partnership with Craig Cachopa, one of four centuries he hit this season. Over the course of the season he scored in excess of 1200 runs at an average of just under 47.

Munro also picked up the Me’s Batsman of the Year Award, whilst Blackcaps bowler Kyle Mills was the other big winner picking up both Me’s Bowler of the Year and International Player of the Year.

Cachopa was also amongst the winners, picking up the Young Player of the Year award for his impressive efforts with the bat this season.

Samantha Curtis picked up the Wome’s Batsman of the Year while Georgia Guy was named Wome’s Bowler of the Year.
