Premier Boys School Report – 3 Feb

Mt Albert vs. St Peter’s

Mt Albert and St Peter’s kicked off the Premier Boys season a day early in a low scoring contest at MAGS.

The home side looked comfortable to begin with, the openers establishing a 20-run partnership before Nathan Cook was trapped LBW by Aaron Da Costa.

From there, SPC put the squeeze on through Lucas Dasent and Luca Flocchini. Dasent drying up the runs while Flocchini reaped the rewards, his figures of 3/4 from 5 overs went some way to dismissing MAGS for just 60 runs.

St Peter’s were untroubled in their chase with runs flowing freely, the loss of Ben Plummer (27) doing little to worry the visitors as Jack Duffy (22*) saw the side home for a convincing 9-wicket win.

Mt Albert 61/10 (L Flocchini 3/4) lost to St Peter’s 62/1

Takapuna Grammar vs. Rosmini

Batting first, Rosmini started well in tough conditions before Thibault Del La Varis (3/22) struck twice in quick succession to remove both openers.

This prompted a Rosmini collapse as TGS ripped through the middle order, a fighting 15 not out from Sam Charleton-Maunder the top score as Rosmini could only manage 86 all out.

The TGS innings followed a similar pattern with both openers starting well before Luke Buxton (4/34) gave Rosmini a sniff with two wickets in the 5th over.

However, Takapuna’s middle order showed just enough fight to chip away at the runs and claim the victory with 3 wickets to spare.

Rosmini 86/10 (T Del La Varis 3/22) lost to Takapuna Grammar 87/7 (L Buxton 4/34)

King’s vs. Auckland Grammar

Morning rain resulted in a delayed start to a match that was reduced to 24 overs per side. Ben Megson (57) and Ollie White (42) batted impressively for Grammar to take their team to a challenging total of 150.

The King’s chase lasted only 8 overs before rain ended proceedings with the hosts 37/2.

Auckland Grammar 150/4 (B Megson 57, O White 42) abandoned vs. King’s 37/2

Saint Kentigern vs. Westlake Boys
