Today, the Cricket Express Men’s U19s side head south to challenge for the National Tournament in Lincoln.
Named skipper of the side, Nikith Perera is excited by the prospect of leading the side over the next 8 days.
“It’s an absolute honour to captain the side.
“Not only do I have many great cricketers as my predecessors, but I also feel I have a fantastic group around me this year. It is a privilege to lead the side and hopefully, we can bring home some silverware.”
The squad is brimmed with exciting cricketers and Perera knows the team will be up for the challenge ahead.
“We have a nice balance and good depth to our squad. We have exciting talent with both bat and ball and it is our goal to be the best fielding side in the competition.
“We know Auckland has had a lot of success at the U19 level in recent times. We are excited to get down there and try to emulate that success.”
