The Cricket Express Women’s U19s side depart today with the National Tournament taking place from January 6-12 in Lincoln.
Speaking to Amie Hucker, the skipper said Auckland has a strong side with plenty of depth with bat and ball.
“We have played a lot of cricket together throughout the years as a group which makes the team bond strong as well.
“We have a strong top-order as well as a skilful bowling attack with Breearne Illing and Fran Jonas in the side, making it an exciting group to be a part of.
Hucker will also feature with bat and ball and the all-rounder wants the team to play positive cricket.
“I’m hoping for the girls to play an aggressive style of cricket and show intent in all aspects of the game but also have fun while doing it.”
Fellow all-rounder Prue Catton will serve as Hucker’s vice-captain throughout the tournament.
The tournament can be followed here, starting from Wednesday.
