Chris Mundell has been appointed Auckland Cricket’s new High Performance Manager.

Mundell, who joined Auckland Cricket in July 2018 in the role of Coach Development Manager, sees a lot of correlation between his coaching and coach development background and the High Performance space.

“Both Coach Development and High Performance are about the growth of people. That is something I am passionate about and I see my skills being of real benefit to our High Performance programme as we continue to foster a growth and development culture.”

Over the past year, Mundell has built strong relationships working alongside the wider coaching community and he is excited by the new challenges ahead.

“We have a great playing group, excellent coaches and support staff, and a really strong foundation built by Simon Insley which will allow me to tap into a wealth of potential within the space.”

Auckland Cricket Chief Executive, Iain Laxon is delighted to be promoting from within the organisation.

“Chris has already proven in his time with us that he is immensely capable, and showed through the recruitment process that he has the leadership and vision that will drive the High Performance programme forward.”

Mundell will step into the role on 7 October.
