Team Auckland look to bounce back in the Dream11 Super Smash against the Volts and Sparks in Alexandra on Monday.

The ACES and HEARTS hit Molyneux Park for Round Two after both sides suffered first-up losses in their respective tournament openers in Wellington.

ACES Assistant Coach Doug Watson said there was plenty to take out of the four-wicket loss to the Firebirds.

“Sean and Graeme gave us an outstanding start with the bat and it was pleasing to see Sean push on to the final overs.

“With the ball, we didn’t quite tick the boxes in terms of plans and execution, so that is something to tidy up ahead of our match with the Volts.”

HEARTS all-rounder Arlene Kelly said the side have had a couple of days with friends and family and are ready to go again.

“It’s a quick turnaround now so our focus moves to our game against the Sparks.

“The girls are fizzed to be heading south, and for many, it’s going to be their first time playing in Alexandra. We’ll go out there with our plans and look to chalk up our first Super Smash win for 2020/21.”

BLACKCAPS batsman Glenn Phillips is set to give the ACES a significant boost replacing Ryan Harrison in the 12-strong squad, while Mark Chapman and Martin Guptill are unavailable due to injury.

Amie Hucker has been added to the HEARTS squad, giving the seam-bowling unit another option.
