This season Auckland Cricket is looking to provide additional Coach Development opportunities for our pathway coaches who are coaching at Premier, District, and First XI level; these development opportunities will look to form a network of coaches group.
The purpose of these development opportunities are to provide the coaches with a platform to collaborate and share best practice, and for coaches to connect and learn from Auckland Cricket High-Performance coaches and Coach Developers. There will be three development opportunities throughout the season that will be a mix of workshops and practical opportunities for coaches to learn.
In addition to this, coaches will also be offered opportunities to observe High-Performance coaches and express interest in Representative coaching opportunities throughout the year.
On Monday 12th October, the first workshop saw 30 pathway coaches from across Auckland turn out to listen to ACES Head Coach Heinrich Malan.
Malan shared some of his coaching philosophies and provided examples of how this was applied in the ACES environment.
Coach Development Manager Mitch Hayde was delighted to see so many coaches working together.
“It was fantastic to see all of the coaches in a room learning from each other.
“Heinrich facilitated the workshop in a way that allowed opportunities for the coaches to reflect on how they can put the learnings into their own context, which I believe is really important.”
The next Network of Coaches event will take place in December.
