Grafton’s match against Eden Roskill was shaping up to be crucial for both teams’ semi-final aspirations. Eden Roskill had a mathematical chance of making the top three in pool two, while Grafton was part of the scrum amongst the top five in pool one.

Grafton had everything to play for, but Eden Roskill are a team which will never lie down. At Vic Park they went about the Grafton batsmen with intent, reducing Grafton to 63-6 after 15 overs.

However, Grafton also weren’t giving it away. Olly Westbury and Nikheil Bhana spearheaded a remarkable recovery, a 79-run partnership that took Grafton through to the 37th over before Westbury went for 71. Bhana kept batting with the tail, ending at 64 not out, and Grafton reached the 50th over, 212/9. The 61 not out was Bhana’s highest score, his second highest being a week ago, when he made 14.

However, Eden Roskill didn’t make the chase easy for themselves. After 25 overs thet were 98/5 and the Grafton bowlers looked like they were going to be able to drive the victory. However, there were more twists in this tale. J Kumar at six made 79, and when Jack Parsons removed him with 10 balls left, Eden Roskill were 200/9.

Bahvik Vora faced off against Dexter Marsh at the last ball, needing four runs to win. No one would have bet on a number 10. Yet, Vora sent the ball over the rope, giving Eden Roskill a one wicket victory.
