Honda Financial Premiership Preview – 2 March

This weekend the Honda Financial premiership sees the second day of round six in the Hedley Howarth and Tom Hellaby championships.

However, since the weather last Saturday wiped out three of the four Hedley Howarth matches, teams will have a tough time getting a result. In better news, the weather forecast for the weekend looks good.

The only Hedley Howarth match to get underway was Takapuna and Parnell at Onewa Domain. Parnell batted first and will start day two on 233/2.

All three Tom Hellaby games saw some play, with North Shore and Ellerslie getting most of the day. Ellerslie scored 151 in their first innings, and North Shore will resume on 110/4.

Eden Roskill and Birkenhead got a couple of sessions in – Roskill batted first and made 140. Birkenhead will start on 54/5 in what looks like being a low-scoring affair all up.

And Waitakere got just 20 overs against Grafton at Victoria Park. They’ll head back out there on 44/3.

Prichard Cup competition takes a break this weekend while the Hearts play against the Wellington Blaze on Saturday and Sunday.

Also on Sunday, the Jeff Crowe Cup reaches its apex. After four months of competition, it comes down to Suburbs New Lynn against Parnell at Eden Park Outer Oval.
