Auckland’s junior cricketers celebrated their successes at the last week’s Auckland junior prizegiving at Eden Park.

Across the 37 grades for boys and girls, there were 44 different winning teams – with a range of ages and skill levels from Under-11 girls soft ball teams to the boys’ Under-19 grade.

It was great to see so many players and families coming along to celebrate their achievements over the season. More than two hundred players, parents, coaches and supporters came along to see their teams receive winners’ medals.

Players had their moment to celebrate, and Auckland Hearts players Anna Peterson and Tariel Lamb were on-hand to take photos with some of the winners.

In a particularly memorable moment, the Mangere Pukapuka Cricket Club Year 8 Boys performed a haka on stage.
