14 players have been offered 2020/21 Auckland ACES contracts during the first round of domestic contracts.
After collecting Club Cricket’s Player of the Year award for 2019/20, top-order batsman Will O’Donnell has been offered a contract for the first time.
ACES Head Coach Heinrich Malan is delighted to see Will O’Donnell on the ACES list.
“It is great to reward a young player like Will, who has starred in club cricket for some time and successfully come through our A-programme.”
The 22-year old has two First Class caps to his name along with eight List A appearances since making his ACES debut in November 2018.
“It was a childhood dream and now it has become a reality. It’s an honour to be an ACE and I’m excited for the opportunity ahead,” O’Donnell said.
Colin Munro is also a notable inclusion, while Finn Allen (Wellington) and Jeet Raval (Northern Districts) have decided to leave Auckland.
Entering his second season in Auckland, Malan is excited to work with a settled group.
“It is pleasing to have a solid group of players who have played together over the last few years.
“We are looking forward to seeing how the group continues to develop over the next twelve months.”
The final two contracts will be announced in early July to complete the ACES squad for 2020/21.
