BLACKCAPS test spinner Will Somerville returns to the Auckland ACES Dream11 Super Smash squad ahead of a Round 10 clash with the Wellington Firebirds at the Basin Reserve on Sunday.

Somerville, who received a late call-up for the BLACKCAPS’ third test in Sydney, will join an otherwise unchanged ACES squad.

The ACES playoff equation will become clearer over the next 24 hours, but the Auckland side must win to have any chance of competing for the Dream11 Super Smash title next weekend.

Ronnie Hira said the ACES have enough experience to take on the challenges of the Basin Reserve and a must-win encounter with the Firebirds.

“We know we must be willing to adapt and make adjustments because the Basin is a big ground and the Wellington zephyr always plays a part.”
Hira also said, while the ACES were disappointed not to have beaten the Knights, all was not lost.

“We are still a chance of a preliminary final if results go our way and we can get a win against the Firebirds.

“The Firebirds have played good cricket throughout the competition, so we’ll have to be at our best with bat, ball and in the field.”
