The season of new ACES faces continues with Ryan Harrison and Adithya Ashok named in the 12-man squad to take on Canterbury at Eden Park’s Outer Oval in Round Seven of the Plunket Shield.

Harrison, 21, who also made his List-A and T20 debuts this summer, can complete the full set if he gets the nod against the Champions-elect.

For Ashok, it is the leg-spinner’s first call-up to an ACES squad. The 18-year old is rewarded for his outstanding form for Suburbs New Lynn, taking 29 two-day wickets at an average of 8 since leaving school in 2020.

Batsman Graeme Beghin returns to the side replacing Glenn Phillips, who joins the BLACKCAPS T20 side to take on Bangladesh. Beghin last donned the whites for the ACES in November, scoring a match-saving century at the Basin Reserve.

The ACES will be eager to get back out on the Outer Oval after a pair of frustrating away draws in Whangarei and Invercargill.

Since the Plunket Shield restart, the ACES have played less than half the scheduled eight days of cricket, with rain and ground delays following the side around the country.

Phillips adds to the ACES international contingent with Mark Chapman, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson, Martin Guptill all currently with the BLACKCAPS squad.
