Girls and Womens Cricket
Auckland Cricket has a strong focus on improving girls cricket. We cater for girls of all abilities in school, club and representative competitions and tournaments. Read on to learn a little bit more about what we can offer you.
There are girls only club grades beginning from U10. Auckland Cricket provide various grades catering for girls of all abilities.
Talented girls have the chance to play in representative cricket from U15 right through to the Auckland Hearts, Auckland's very successful women's team.
There are various school competitions which are girls only. These are detailed below.
Quikhit is a 'have a go' type tournament where girls play a modified form of cricket aimed at giving everyone a fair go. All girls will bat 2 overs and bowl 1 over in each game. All teams will play 5 games on the day.
Quikhit is played at the end of term 3 at various locations around Auckland. For more information including dates, how to enter and the rules please click here.
Cricket Blitz is an afterschool game which offers a girls only year 7/8 grade and year 9/10 grade. There is also a mixed year 5/6 age grade. Again, Blitz focuses on participation. All players bowl 2 overs and bat 4 overs. The 4-6 week competition is held in term 4 and 1 each year.

NZ Post Shield
The NZ Post Shield is New Zealand Crickets premier year 7/8 girls competition. The preliminary rounds are played in Auckland. The winner of the Auckland competition will be selected to play in the national competition against the winner of the other Major Cricket Associations around New Zealand.
