Trustees and Officers

The Auckland Cricket Development Foundation Inc has as Patron, New Zealand Businessman and avid cricket supporter, Sir Ron Brierley.

The Trustees of the Auckland Cricket Development Foundation are:

Bill Francis

Currently a Director of Radio New Zealand, Bill has had a lengthy career in broadcasting including Chief Executive of the Radio Broadcasters Association for five years, and General Manager of Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport for 17 years.

Bill is the author of 12 books, including six on cricket. He served on the Board of Auckland Cricket for four years and a further four years as a Director of New Zealand Cricket.

He was awarded the ONZM for services to Broadcasting and Cricket in 2016.

Paul Kelly

Paul Kelly will need no introduction to many Auckland Cricket people having played for the Association from 1981 to 1991, and gaining national representative honours at NZ Secondary Schools, Brabin (U21) and Rothmans (U23) levels. He played for the North Shore Cricket Club from 1976 until 1994 and was subsequently involved in coaching junior cricket at Parnell Cricket Club from 1994 to 2005.

Paul is in the banking business and has held significant positions with ASB Bank, National Bank and ANZ Bank since 1986. He is presently works with ASB Bank in a Key Account (Private Banking) Management position.

Paul brings to the Board of Auckland Cricket considerable financial and management expertise and experience as well as the experience of playing cricket at first class level. He has a passion for sport generally and cricket in particular. He has been a member of the Board since 2007.

Paul Lucas

A company director, Paul has in excess of 35 years business experience.

He is the founder of the EDL Group of companies operating through out Australia and New Zealand. Paul is now very involved as a company director, overseeing business investments that include manufacturing, distribution, and commercial property. His passion for cricket includes 30 years as a player and administrator. Paul is a former chairman of the Eden Roskill Cricket Club and was a board member of Auckland Cricket from 1996 to 2001, his last year as deputy chairman. He was co opted back onto the board in 2008 and is also currently the chairman of the ACDF.

Graham Walton

Business career has been in banking, financial services and the investment markets as well as being a professional trustee, holding senior management positions in the investment and trustee fields.

Has been involved all his life with the playing and administration of cricket and is a past Chairman of Cornwall Cricket Club. Graham was responsible for the organisation of junior cricket in Auckland for more than 15 years and was Operations Manager for Auckland Cricket for 10 years. He initiated the work during the late 1990’s to set up the Auckland Cricket Development Foundation and is currently Community Liaison Officer for The Eden Park Trust and is the Eden Park Historian and Archivist. He is also a Chairman of charitable trusts in the aged care and early childhood care sectors and a trustee of the Laidlaw College Foundation. Liaison with the Auckland Cricket Association is through the Chief Executive of Auckland Cricket.
