Auckland’s club cricketers shine on the world stage

Over winter, three Auckland based club cricketers have been achieving on the international stage.

Takapuna’s Max O’Dowd, Daniel ter Braak and Cornwall’s Freddie Klaassen have been playing for the Netherlands national team.

O’Dowd and ter Braak played in the ICC Intercontinental Cup played in Ireland earlier this month and put in some superb performances.

O’Dowd scored his maiden First-Class century against Ireland in Dublin.

Batting at number seven, O’Dowd scored a brilliant 105 off 151 balls including 16 fours and one six.

In the same game, ter Braak made his First-Class debut and opened the batting in both innings scoring 32 and 23 runs respectively.

Both O’Dowd and ter Braak will be back for the 2017/18 club cricket season, while Klaassen will remain in Europe over the winter training with the Netherlands squad.
