Rain halts Hearts charge

The Auckland Hearts will consider themselves unlucky with rain spoiling their chances of picking up the victory against the Central Hinds after an excellent batting performance.

Maddy Green (95) won the toss and elected to bat first, the captain led from the front batting for 40 overs and falling just short of a well deserved hundred.

Maia Bouchier (65) played an excellent supporting role, the pair putting on 120 for the third wicket to set the Hearts up for a large first innings total.

Holly Huddleston (34) put the icing on the cake in the later overs to lift her side to 265/6 off their 50 overs.

Unfortunately for the Hearts, the rain arrived and put an abrupt end to proceedings, however, the Hearts will take great confidence from a fantastic batting performance.
