Cornwall/Howick Pak get on as rain dominates region
With a nasty weekend of weather, Cornwall and Howick Pakuranga were the only teams to see any two-day cricket action.
The two teams managed 33 overs in two stints as they dodged the showers at Cornwall Park.
The home side were sent in by Howick Pakuranga and are 82/3 with Amit Dhadwal and Sam Anderson both on 33* at the close.
Cornwall were 15/0 after the first stint of play but a spirited fightback from the visitors saw them take three wickets in the early evening including the dangerous Brian Barnard.
Paddy Cairns started the wicket taking removing opener Shastryn Nair for 10 before Rutvik Botadra got in the mood to take a couple of scalps, finishing with 2/17 off 10 overs.
At 27/3 Howick Pakuranga had an opening, but some solid resistance from opener Amit Dhadwal and Sam Anderson ensured no further damage as Cornwall went to stumps 82/3.
Cornwall 82/3 (A Dhadwal 33*, S Anderson 33*)
*NOTE: The Jeff Crowe Cup final between Takapuna and Cornwall has been postponed until March 19.*
