Grafton United 150th

2012/13 sesquicentennial

Grafton 150thThe 2012/13 season is a landmark one for Grafton, with the club turning 150 years old on the 18th of September. And they have big plans in place to celebrate this incredible milestone in style!
As one of the oldest cricket clubs in New Zealand - older even than most of the English county cricket clubs - it's an impressive achievement to have made it this far. Especially when there have been more than a few ups and downs along the way . . .
The Club has battled wars and gold rushes, depressions and epidemics, councils and bureaucracy, politics and personalities . . . and survived! You can read all about this rollercoaster ride in "United We Stand", a new book on the history of the Club (available for purchase in March  2013).
March sees the sesquicentenary celebrations take off with these exciting events:

Friday, 8 March - BOOK LAUNCH

The official launch of "United We Stand" and a meet and greet at the Clubrooms, Victoria Park, to kick off the weekend of celebrations.

Saturday, 9 March - GALA EVENING

A ritzy event, complete with major guest speaker, at the magnificent Viaduct Events Centre.

Sunday, 10 March - CELEBRITY TWENTY/20 GAME

Come down to Victoria Park to see the Grafton Greats XI take on an All Stars XI featuring some of the former and current stars of the game.
