Mitchell McClenaghan is one of the four newly contracted players

The Aces have announced their first 13 contracts for the coming season which are notable for the return of two old faces in Reece Young and Lou Vincent, and first time contracts for Dean Bartlett and Mitchell McClenaghan.

Vincent returns from playing in a variety of places around the world, most recently in England, whilst Young returns after a two year stint in Canterbury where he forced his way into the Blackcaps.

McClenaghan was the form bowler in the back half of last season when he burst onto the scene with consecutive five wicket bags and then topped it off with an incredible 8/23 in the Plunket Shield to almost write himself into a contract then and there.

Bartlett was a consistent performer in the Plunket Shield when called on and also proved to be an excellent containing bowler in the latter stages of the Ford Trophy.

Vincent and Young provide some batting experience for the Aces to compensate for the departure of top order players Brad Cachopa and Jeet Raval.

This is the first round of contracts with the Aces being able to offer one more to make up their full compliment of 14 players for the season. The last round of contracts will not be offered until 9 August.
